The track moves the way good punk should. Fast, sharp, and just controlled enough to keep it from falling apart. It does not overcomplicate anything. It does not try to be clever. It just hits the idea directly and lets the energy carry it. That balance is where We Might Die stand out. There is a sense of purpose behind the chaos. Hooks that stick without softening the message. Anger that feels focused instead of scattered. It makes the song feel less like a rant and more like something built to be shouted back in a crowded room.

The song is an explosive blend, drawing on the legacy of riot grrrl and the raw energy of hardcore punk. The band’s diverse influences are reflected in the driving rhythm section, the song’s blistering speed and tempo, and its delivery. In under two minutes, it unleashes its full force, recalling classics such as Minor Threat or Discharge, but with a more modern edge, as heard in the hardcore style of Scowl or the disbanded Gel. Liv, the frontwoman, is brought to the forefront by the direct, no-frills punk style, where she showcases her personality and presence […] With ‘SHIT CYCLE’, We Might Die announce themselves as one of the most exciting new voices in punk: sharp, unrelenting, and with nothing to soften.

#5 The Artist: We Might Die, a Vegas-based, underground punk trio led by a teenage girl named Liv on vocals and bass, and her girl-dad, Chance, on drums. On ICED Out, they assume the voices of Border Patrol/ICE agents, nailing their privilege and fascism with lines like, “I’ll take your life cuz mine matters more, Because I’m white, I’ve got the right.”

Las Vegas hardcore punk outfit We Might Die share their latest single, “ICED OUT.” An undeniably aggressive hardcore track by way of Dead Kennedys’ “Police Truck,” We Might Die’s new song offers scathing commentary on ICE and state-sanctioned violence by writing through the point of view of an ICE agent.

–Justice Peterson 3/4/2026
New Noise Magazine

Speaking about the song, the band said, “Written from the perspective of an ICE agent, the track delivers a searing, satirical takedown of state violence and the justifications used to defend it — a loud, fast, and furious spiritual successor to the classic protest punk lineage of “Police Truck” by Dead Kennedys.”

I did get a chance to preview the explosive punk song and can tell you that it’s written from the perspective of an ICE agent, just “doing his job” … a clever twist, in the same vein as Jesse Welle’s “Join ICE” song (an anti-ICE song disguised as a recruitment song).

Rising Las Vegas punk trio We Might Die return with their most confrontational release to date, the blistering new single "ICED OUT," now streaming everywhere.

This Nevada trio had me at “father-daughter band.” But beyond that: hard-hitting, melodic punk rock tinged with hardcore, with vocals that reminded me immediately of Mish from White Lung—some of that band’s off-kilter riffage through these ears, too. Really impressive stuff, and one to watch.

Talking with Liv has a way of triggering reflection — not the nostalgic kind, but the clarifying kind. Her confidence, clarity, and conviction would’ve been intimidating at any age, and still are. Rooted in the Las Vegas punk scene, her work pairs accountability with care, and refuses to mistake silence for progress.

We had a hard time writing the introduction to this interview - there is just so much we love about this band. The music. The lyrics. The songwriting. The attitude. The dynamic. The willingness to take chances. Say what you like about We Might Die - it’s a free country (kinda, at least as of this writing), but the best way we can describe them is very simple:

This band is cool as hell.

Las Vegas’ We Might Die is known for their high-energy performances and a sound that blends hardcore, punk, and alternative rock. The band includes Chance on drums, Travis on guitar, and Liv on bass and vocals. The band's members come from diverse backgrounds, with Chance having a long history in the New Mexican and Texas hardcore scenes and Travis bringing an East Coast flair. Their sound is characterized by angsty, blues-infused vocals, hard-hitting drums, and epic guitar shredding, all complementing heartfelt and angry lyrics that explore themes of anxiety and tough situations.

The title of the interview? We were asked to include some emojis. We were kind of like “ehh, not all that easy to stick emojis in a web page …” Then we went back and watched footage of Liv tearing up the stage.

We quickly included the emojis.

If there is any artist that has blown us away - music, lyrics, attitude, and just plain bad-assery - it has to be Liv from We Might Die.

As the bassist and vocalist for the Las Vegas band, Liv is a ferocious presence. Her youth doesn't hinder her musical prowess; she delivers a mature and powerful point of view in her performances. Her heartfelt and angry lyrics, along with her spunky and angsty musical contributions, are a key part of We Might Die's overall approach to self-expression. She grew up immersed in a world of art and music, and her natural talent shines through, making her an essential part of the band's dynamic.

As far as we’re concerned, we might die, but Liv will still be awesome.

We caught up with her to discuss life, music, and the power to set people’s shoes on fire with her eyes.

EDITOR: Preil Press found the Las Vegas Band, We Might Die, on the r/punk subreddit. Liv's mother, Stephanie, had posted a clip. We traded a couple of emails. She made a recording of her asking the band my questions and the band's answers. This is a transcript of that recording.

HEADLINE: Liv is 14!

What I love about We Might Die, and what I have always loved about them is how not only are they absolutely killer musicians, who have an insane chemistry together, but I love that their music is raw, honest, and not afraid to talk about some incredibly hard and personal topics such as lost love, betrayal, fake mother fuckers, overcoming obstacles and keeping the music scene toxic free, which honestly those are incredibly real issues. I love Vegas, but there are definitely some toxic mother fuckers here in this city lol.

With Lead Singer Liv’s intense vocals and sick bass playing, Chance’s commanding drums that have a mind of their own, and Travis’s Guitar that brings an amazing raw, gritty energy to the mix, I am always constantly impressed with each new release how harder, faster, and louder they get every time. They are not afraid to push themselves musically and are always constantly evolving as a band, which I think is amazing. Shit, I remember seeing them for the first time a couple of years back and already being impressed at the time by their incredibly strong musicianship and songs.

So I am happy to report that they seem, for me, to get better and better each time, and constantly always surprise me. I am so incredibly proud and inspired to see this band becoming such a huge force to be reckoned with in the Vegas music scene, and I cannot wait for their new album to come out on 8/29. I just know it will be a wonderful new step in the right direction for this already incredibly sick band. If you are not listening to We Might Die right now, you better fucking start today!

-Vegas Music Scene 8/18/2025

We Might Die just keep getting stronger with each song they release and it’s incredibly fascinating to watch. I know they are a fairly new band, so watching them find their vibe and sound in real time, is amazing watch. I loved their first single B.I.T.B and I feel between “Bloom (I Still Hate You)” and “Get Out Of My Scene” these are both wonderful steps in the right direction.

It was hard to choose which song to do a review on, but I went with Bloom cause I love it’s brutal honesty, about trying to get rid of what seems like someone toxic in their life, which is incredibly hard to do. Plus, it’s just so ridiculously catchy as a song, I just wanted to keep playing it on repeat.

With their strong musicianship, very solid pop / punk songs, and always a commanding vocal presence, We Might Die are definitely ones to watch out for. I can’t wait to see the next musical journey they will take us on next.
